FAQ

Beginning - Check in

On the first day of your charter vacation, there are a few practical things that have to be taken care of to make sure the whole week runs smoothly. First, you will meet your skipper, and hostess or chef if you’ve booked one in advance, and you will be informed of how far along the cleaning of the boat is. Usually, the boat will be ready at around 17:00, but your Skipper will keep you informed on the day. You will then go shopping for food with your hostess or chef. If you have opted out of having someone cook for you, you are welcome to food shop whenever suits you before 17:00, but please remember that there is nowhere to store items that need refrigeration before you board the boat. Once your boat is ready for you, you will be shown around by the crew, and you will have a chance to get unpacked and situated in your new home, before enjoying a magnificent sunset cruise to your first destination.

End - Check out

You will be returning home to the marina where you started your week Friday afternoon, and you are welcome to stay on the boat until Saturday morning. There is a cleaning package included in your booking, but the boat still has to be returned in a decent state. This means that all trash must be removed from the boat and all your belongings as well. Also, all food and any other provisions you have brought onto the boat must be taken out. If you have a hostess she will take care of most of this. Friday evening there will be a technical check of the boat, so any damages will be dealt with at this point. Should any damages occur throughout the week, please let your crew know so they can see if it can be fixed before the technical check.

Provisions

Provisions are all the things you will be eating and drinking on the boat. If you have opted out of having a hostess or chef, you will be in charge of preparing all meals for you and the crew. We recommend eating at local restaurants for dinner, but for breakfast and lunch, we recommend enjoying it on board. For your ease and enjoyment, we recommend lighter meals or meals with minimal to no cooking. Regarding drinks, you must buy bottled water as the water from the boat taps is not drinking water. In local supermarkets, you can buy big bottles of about 7 liters. It is also possible to food shop along the route however, we recommend buying the majority of what you need from the beginning as things are more expensive on the islands. Hygiene items such as soap and toilet paper are provided for you.

Skipper

Hiring a skipper means that you can relax completely on your holiday, with no worry about the weather or where you go next. Your skipper will be well-known in the area and have a great route planned for you. When you hire a skipper you can feel free to help as much or as little as you please with the boat manoeuvring, and you can always rest assured that you are being shown the best places and kept safe.

Hostess

A hostess takes the task of cooking breakfast and lunch off your hands. She will cook a fresh breakfast spread every day and a light lunch. Before you depart on your holiday a menu will be sent to you for you to approve or alter. She will also be with you when food shopping, to make sure you get everything need to keep you well fed. Aside from this, she will make sure the boat is kept looking neat and tidy, and she will assist the skipper with docking the boat.

Chef

A chef elevates the yacht experience by providing a delicious breakfast spread and a restaurant- style lunch every day. Before you depart on your holiday a menu will be sent to you for you to approve or alter. The chef will accompany you when food shopping to make sure you get everything that is needed. The chef also assists the skipper with docking the boat.

Additional expenses

• Berthing fees – there will be a fee for marinas, ports, and buoys, which vary from place to place.
• Dinner – we recommend eating dinner at excellent local restaurants which will be paid directly to them. If you would like your hostess or chef to provide dinner on board, there will be an additional cost for this per meal.
• Food for the crew – you will be responsible for the food your crew eats. You can choose to have them accompany you to restaurants or, you can provide food for them to cook themselves on the boat. If you don’t have a hostess or chef, please make sure to provide breakfast and lunch to the skipper.
• National park tickets – on the vast majority of our routes you will be entering a national park. They are absolutely stunning and definitely worth the visit. There is a fee that will be paid on arrival to the park which is used to keep the national park up to standard, for your enjoyment.
• Fuel – towards the end of the week your boat will need fuelling, which will be payable straight to the gas station.
If you would like an approximation of the additional fees you can expect, please contact us by email.
